A cool program for art lovers and creative people
St. Pölten (OTS) – The exhibitions “Egon Schiele. Naked!” and “Erwin Osen. Egon Schiele’s Artist Friend” in the Egon Schiele Museum in Tulln are the perfect program both in rainy weather and on hot summer days in the cool walls of the former district prison. The museum gem on the banks of the Danube is therefore increasing its program for art lovers and creative people in July and August and rewards climate-friendly public travel. There is a one euro discount on the regular admission of six euros if you can prove that you have traveled in a climate-friendly manner with a ticket.
On Sundays July 14th and 28th and August 11th and 25th, the Egon Schiele Museum offers guided museum tours at 2 p.m. each day, which present the exhibition “Egon Schiele. Naked!” in the treasury, the special exhibition “Erwin Osen. Egon Schiele’s artist friend” on the upper floor and the five audiovisual stages of Egon Schiele’s life with the original voices of his sisters Gerti and Melanie Schiele and his sister-in-law Adela Harms. From 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the above dates, there is a changing studio program for creative people of all ages. On July 14th, the focus is on colorful butterflies, on July 28th, creativity with fabric paints is the order of the day, on August 11th, games for the holidays are made and on August 25th the theme is “marble picture, screen technique & Co.” Registration for tours and studio programs is not necessary. To reach the studio, you have to climb a staircase.
The Egon Schiele Museum is open Tuesday to Sunday and on public holidays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. During opening hours, there is always the Atelier to go for adults in a special kids’ edition. Here, museum guests can also be creative themselves, inspired by their visit to the museum grounds, on the go or at home. The Egon Schiele Museum is located directly on the Lower Austrian Danube Cycle Path and is therefore perfectly accessible by bike. If you want to travel in style as in Schiele’s time, take the train, visit Egon Schiele’s birthplace at Tulln an der Donau station and walk along the Egon Schiele Weg to the Museum an der Donau. This makes the Egon Schiele Museum in the birthplace of the exceptional artist the perfect summer excursion destination.
