Mumbai : Actor Adhyayan Suman made his Bollywood debut in 2008 with Haal-e-Dil and went on to star in acclaimed films like Raaz-The Mystery Continues and Jashn. However, he slowed down in the middle due to “lack of opportunities”. After Jashn in 2009, Adhyayan appeared in other films such as Dehradun Diary, Heartless, and Lucknowi Ishq, which failed to strike a chord with the audience, resulting in affected box-office collections.
Talking about the slow down, Adhyayan told IANS, “Why did I slow down in the middle due to lack of opportunities? I think it’s important for me to be honest with myself and my audience. There are opportunities. Definitely lacking otherwise if it was up to me what I would do and appear in every other show or movie.” Now he hopes to work with good directors and play good characters.
“I just want to be a good working actor. For me, I’m not working for the stardom aspect of it because that’s a byproduct of doing good work, but I want a lot of respect as an artist, that’s what I I think I’m working towards it,” said the actor. Adhyayan, son of veteran actor Shekhar Suman, got the recognition he was looking for from filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
“I’ve been looking for some validation throughout my entire working life,” he said. The actor feels that he and his parents worked very hard for this.
