The war in Sudan it has caused “one of the worst humanitarian crises” of last decadessaid today the international president of Doctors Without Borders (MSF), Christos Christou.
“The Sudan is affected by one of the worse judgments that the world has known for decades (…) and the humanitarian answer is deeply inadequate“, emphasized Mr. Christou in X.
“All over the country they are recorded extreme levels of suffering and the needs are increasing day by day,” he added.
The war in Sudan broke out in April 2023 between the army under General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) of General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo.
They have lost their lives in the conflict tens of thousands of people and more than nine million have been forced to relocate, according to the UN.
