Subsidies on CFE summer rates. Which regions benefit?

MEXICO CITY (apro).- Starting in the summer and with the increase in temperatures, the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) will apply its summer rates to domestic service for localities with a minimum average temperature of 30 degrees Celsius in this season.

The rate applies exclusively to domestic use and in homes that are not considered high consumption, as established in the DAC Rate (Domestic High Consumption service). No other general use rates will be applied to the benefited entities, according to the CFE.

The six benefited regions are:

  • Baja California
  • Baja California Sur
  • Northwest
  • North and northeast
  • South and Peninsula
  • Central

Rate 1 – Domestic use.

Basic (for each of the first 15 kW/H): 1,031

Intermediate (for each of the following 65 kW/h): 1,255

Surplus (for each kW/h additional to the previous ones): 3,672

Rate 1A – Locations with a minimum average temperature in summer of 25 degrees.

Basic (for each of the first 100 kW/H): 0.921

Intermediate (for each of the following 50 kW/h): 1,067

Surplus (for each kW/h additional to the previous ones): 3,672

Rate 1B – Locations with a minimum average temperature in summer of 28 degrees.

Basic (for each of the first 125 kW/H): 0.921

Intermediate (for each of the following 100 kW/h): 1,067

Surplus (for each kW/h additional to the previous ones): 3,672

Rate 1C – Locations with a minimum average temperature in summer of 30 degrees.

Basic (for each of the first 150 kW/H): 0.918

Low intermediate (for each of the following 150 kW/h): 1,063

Rate 1D – Locations with a minimum average temperature in summer of 31 degrees.

Surplus (for each kW/h additional to the previous ones): 3,072

Rate 1E – Locations with a minimum average temperature in summer of 32 degrees.

Basic (for each of the first 300 kW/H): 0.767

Low intermediate (for each of the following 450 kW/h): 0.955

High midium (for each of the following 150 kW/h): 1,240

Surplus (for each kW/h additional to the previous ones): 3,672

Rate 1F – Locations with a minimum average temperature in summer of 33 degrees.

Basic (for each of the first 300 kW/H): 0.767

Low intermediate (for each of the following 900 kW/h): 0.955

High midium (for each of the following 1300 kW/h): 2,322

Surplus (for each kW/h additional to the previous ones): 3,672

In different regions the summer rate starts on different dates, depending on when they usually register the increase in temperatures, so it is recommended to consult the page of CFE to consult the applicable rate.
