With Student’s Day just around the corner, students across the country are organizing celebrations. Those in Tucumán are certainly not far behind. Some faculties of the National University of Tucumán (UNT) have already begun the celebrations on Monday, such as Philosophy and Letters with its Cultural Week, while others will do so from Thursday 19 to Saturday 21 September.
The festival calendar will be packed this weekend, not only because of the activities of the September Music Festival, but also because the UNT faculties have already presented their plans. There are, so far, six festivals being held this year.
The celebrations from September 19 to 21
Thursday, September 19
The Faculty of Economic Sciences will be in charge of kicking off the celebrations. The celebration will take place in the courtyard of Agronomía located at Avenida Roca 1,900 between 1:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Admission is free and is an ideal option for students to start the festivities with energy.
Friday, September 20th
The Faculty of Psychology will hold the Psico-Florece Vol.3 event at Avenida Benjamín Aráoz 800 between 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Admission will be free and students must bring a non-perishable food item to help those who need it most. The food will be donated to the Creando Sonrisas foundation.
The Faculty of Physical Education will host an inter-class event for university students at Avenida Benjamín Aráoz 751 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. There will be tournaments; dancing; music; election of king and queen; food; drink and a mechanical bull. Admission will be free for students, although they must register in advance and a large turnout is expected.
Like the Facdef, the Faculty of Exact Sciences and Technology will have its own internal celebration starting at 1:00 p.m. There will be games, music, drinks, notes and purple hamburgers, along the Franja Morada, which controls the institution’s Student Center.
This year, the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences will not hold the party at its facilities, but at La Cascada, a nightclub located at San Miguel 663 (San Miguel de Tucumán). Tickets costing $2,000 can be purchased at the downtown Law School and at Quinta Agronómica.
Saturday, September 21
The Faculty of Philosophy and Letters The week of celebrations will close with a session from 12 to 9 pm. Students will be able to enter by bringing a non-perishable food item, while attendees who do not meet this condition will have to acquire a contribution voucher of $2,000 and bring a food item.
