The news was announced by all international news agencies and caused horror in many capitals. A mass grave of dozens of corpses was discovered in the courtyard of Khan Younes hospital in Gaza. The Palestinian civil defense carried out the exhumation of these civilians and one of its spokespersons speaks of 200 to 300 bodies dug up. This discovery comes after previous Israeli raids. The IDF withdrew its troops on April 7 and its officials did not react after this information was broadcast everywhere. They say an investigation will take place.
Stuck situation in the Gaza Strip
It was the Palestinian authorities in Gaza who released this news and even announced that this was the second mass grave discovered in a week. The military operation carried out by the Israelis was carried out without concession. The bombings were incessant and destroyed this enclave of Khan Younès where there is nothing but ruin. Hospitals were not spared. Civilians search for their loved ones in the rubble. Some are trying to see if they are among those who have been dug up. The reactions of international opinion have been severe, but they show a certain helplessness in the face of the attitude of Israeli leaders. An Israeli newspaper claims that “Palestinian terror group officials discovered a mass grave containing 200 bodies and falsely say they were buried by IDF soldiers”. The media, however, recognizes that intense fighting took place within the Nasser hospital grounds. He points out that Hamas uses hospitals as command centers. The situation therefore seems blocked for the moment. The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, does not hide his concern: “There is no prospect of a ceasefire. No progress has been recorded in this direction”.
