Stoltenberg has again stated that NATO is not a participant in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict – 2024-04-05 00:12:02

The Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Jens Stoltenberg once again announced in Brussels that the alliance is not a participant in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

This is reported by “RIA Novosti”, quoting Stoltenberg’s words.

“NATO is not a participant in this conflict and will not be. NATO is only helping Ukraine exercise its right to self-defense… We have no plans to send combat units to Ukraine, there have been no such requests. The Ukrainians ask for weapons and ammunition, we supply them, but that does not make NATO a participant in the conflict,” the General Secretary stated.

Besides this, he also noted that the member countries of the alliance realize the importance of providing Ukraine with a large amount of ammunition and anti-aircraft defense systems as soon as possible.

“They (ed. NATO members) will assess their capabilities and think about whether they can supply more systems,” Stoltenberg added.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the meetings of foreign ministers of the alliance countries, as well as the meetings of the NATO-Ukraine Council, were held in Brussels, at the headquarters of NATO, in which the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba also participated.
