The allegations against one of Minister Zadić’s closest confidants are serious
Vienna (OTS) – “Alma Zadić owes the public full clarification. Anything else is completely unacceptable. Because if one of the Minister of Justice’s closest colleagues is accused of illegally passing on confidential judicial files, then this accusation is simply too serious,” said the General Secretary of the People’s Party, Christian Stocker, referring to reports in the Kronen Zeitung and Die Presse.
“According to media reports, the head of Alma Zadić’s cabinet, a former confidante of Peter Pilz, is said to have illegally passed on files. This of course requires clarification: the so-called Pilnacek Commission must look into these allegations,” Stocker continued, stressing in conclusion: “In addition, the question is whether an investigation independent of Zadić is not actually needed here, especially since the Minister of Justice can give instructions to both the public prosecutor’s office and the Pilnacek Commission. In any case, even the appearance of bias must be avoided at all costs. Even if the allegations are now denied, these allegations are so serious that they make an independent investigation absolutely necessary.”
