Stem Camp was organized at Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Women and Children Science Technology Workshops

(MYRTLE) – A “Stem Camp” event was organized at Berdan Guesthouse for students studying at the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Women and Children Science and Technology Workshops.

A camp was organized for students who were receiving education at the Women and Children Science and Technology Workshops operating under the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Women and Family Services Department and who were also involved in social responsibility projects. In the two-day program, medals were given to 6 students who were successful in the exam and won places in different universities. In addition to robotic coding activities, nature trips and various activities were organized for students who had experiences with virtual reality glasses.

Emre Aşkın, Head of Women and Children Science Technology Workshops, stated that the camp was organized to motivate students and said:

“On the one hand, face-to-face trainings in workshops, on the other hand, mobile trainings… The purpose of this event; our students continued their education in workshops at certain times and participated in project development competitions. At the same time, they supported us in our mobile village events and social responsibility projects. We are together in this motivational event to give them some rest and motivate them. Some of us have settled in university and will bid farewell to our city. With this event that we organized before they leave; we continue the process in a fun way to both reward them and create a brainstorming session. Here, we first presented activities related to robotic coding. In addition, we experimented with virtual reality glasses. Sports activities were also included in the process. Our children continued to benefit from the facilities of the camp area.”
