Stefanos Kasselakis announced the SYRIZA European ballot in the presence of Tsipras

The European ballot paper of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance was presented at the Hellinikonos Kosmos cultural center by the party’s president, Stefanos Kasselakis, announcing the candidates for the upcoming European elections.

Lekatsa Melpo, Sinou Despina, Violeta Kordatzi, Vasilios Papalazarou and Veneri Lydia are the 5 persons with whom the SYRIZA European ballot closes.

The “present” at the event was given by a large number of friends and executives of the party, as well as former Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, who was deified upon his arrival at the cultural center. Alexis Tsipras was also applauded after a reference made by Stefanos Kasselakis during his speech.

“When you are president of SYRIZA, a whole well-worked system that takes orders directly from Maximos, works with one purpose: how it will distort, how it will assassinate your character”, said Stefanos Kasselakis characteristically from the podium.

And he added that “Alexis Tsipras has experienced it more than any of us in his long political career and path”, with friends and members of the official opposition party bursting into applause, deifying the former prime minister and president of SYRIZA-PS. Their plan was “a SYRIZA alone, constantly shrinking, recycling into introversion, ceding the position of official opposition to a party convenient for the system”, but “you didn’t let them, you spoiled it all for them, because you took SYRIZA to your hands,” said Stefanos Kasselakis at the central event for the presentation of the SYRIZA-PS European ballot, at the “Hellenic World” Cultural Center. “This one here is your SYRIZA,” he said, as the lights in the hall turned on and the stage with all the candidates lit up.

The president of SYRIZA PS said that “an entire propaganda taught an entire people to live with the minimum. With the minimum of his dreams. With a pass that is not enough for life”, to emphasize that “we want a better life and we want it now, we propose a better life and call on Greek men and women to decide”. “A better life is in your hands,” he said.

Before starting the presentation, Mr. Kasselakis appeared cheerful, while a crowd of party friends hugged him and asked to take a selfie.

Earlier, the press representative of SYRIZA-PS, Voula Kehagia, speaking on the radio station “Athens 98.4”, spoke of a “new, modern and hopeful” European ballot, “with strong symbolism, as you will see from the five that will be presented today, with people who have distinguished themselves in their professional environments, people who believe in the dynamics of SYRIZA-PS and want to contribute with their professional experience to the European vision of SYRIZA-PS”.

“The message we send to citizens is that they should trust us, but at the same time the message to our candidates is that nothing ends after the European elections.” He explained that regardless of who will be distinguished by the citizens’ vote, “the European ballot is a pool of new cadres for SYRIZA-PS, who will stay close to SYRIZA and work for the next day”, he added.

For “a climate of unity, rallying and dynamic presence of SYRIZA-PS in these European elections, which in my own estimation and from the messages we receive from the world will be such that it will launch political developments and political change”, he made SYRIZA MEP candidate Dora Avgeri spoke upon her entrance.

“We are turning the page, leaving pessimism behind. It is the first national battle after the national elections of ’23. Let’s go for the best. I think we have a great European ballot. I am ready to go and I am very sure that we will do very well”, said the party’s MEP candidate, Dora Tsambazi.
