Two tubes stuck in the body Shin Tae-yong (STY). That is the photo displayed by the Indonesian National Team coach on his personal Instagram social media account (@shintaeyong7777).
Shin Tae-yong deliberately uploaded the latest condition after surgery for the disease he suffered. The South Korean coach returned to his home country since mid-June 2024.
Shin is suspected of suffering from chest inflammation, which was also confirmed by PSSI’s executive committee (Exco) member, Arya Sinulingga. In Shin’s upload, stitches from surgery were visible on his body.
“It’s been a long time since I said hello. I was hospitalized on June 15 and had surgery on June 17 for 6 hours. Now I will recover and prepare for the third World Cup qualifiers,” Shin wrote in the post.
In addition, Shin also uploaded his condition after surgery while undergoing the recovery process. He showed off a photo with the Indonesian National Team flag which is a sign of a contract extension until 2027.
The upload was then flooded with prayers and support from all Indonesian people, including Nova. The assistant coach of the Indonesian National Team hopes that Shin will recover quickly and return to guard the Garuda Squad.
“Always be strong and healthy, coach, because we all always pray for the best for Coach Shin’s health. Never get tired, coach, of making Indonesian football continue to develop and be better in the future,” wrote Nova in the comments column.
“Get Well Soon coach Shin and see you in Indonesia,” tambahnya.
It is not yet known when Shin will return to Indonesia. However, the 53-year-old coach is rumored to be returning to Indonesia before the end of July 2024.
Shin will return to his duties as the Garuda Squad coach ahead of the third round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers in the Asian Zone. The Indonesian national team is known to be grouped with Saudi Arabia, Australia, Bahrain, China, and Japan in Group C.
