Making important statements about the New Plant Production Supports, Aydın Chamber of Agriculture Coordination Board Chairman Mehmet Kendirlioğlu drew attention to the fact that the posts claiming that fuel and fertilizer supports were lifted did not reflect the truth and said, “Fuel and fertilizer support was not lifted, only the name was changed. In short, all supports will continue with a name change.”
Aydın Chamber of Agriculture Coordination Board President Mehmet Kendirlioğlu made statements to the public regarding the new support decisions for plant production covering the years 2025-2027. Kendirlioğlu stated that the claims circulating on social media that fuel and fertilizer supports have been lifted do not reflect the truth; “The ‘Decision on Plant Production Supports and Other Agricultural Supports’ to be made in 2025-2027 has been published in the Official Gazette and entered into force. Following this decision, which includes many new practices, it was felt necessary to make a statement regarding some unfounded claims made in the public. The news circulating on social media that supports such as fuel, fertilizer and premium have been lifted do not reflect the truth. Fuel and fertilizer support has not been lifted. In the new period, its definition has been revised as ‘Basic Support’ determined based on basic input costs (fuel-fertilizer). Fuel and fertilizer support has not been lifted, only the name has been changed.”
Kendirlioğlu announced that agricultural supports for 2024 will continue to be implemented in the same way as the current system, but a new support model will be introduced for the period covering the years 2025-2027. He stated that in this new model, the basic coefficient value for 2025 will be 244 TL per decare. Kendirlioğlu stated that the support coefficient was created according to product types, and for example, this support for cotton reached 549 TL when calculated with the basic coefficient multiplier, and this figure will increase even more with additional supports.
“Premium support will continue”
Kendirlioğlu added that the difference payment (premium support) application will continue for products with supply deficits, and said that premium support will be provided to compensate for production costs and income losses, especially for products such as cotton. He reported that the products for which difference payment will be made and the payment amounts will be announced in the future. – AYDIN
