Highest award for the most innovative and sustainable packaging solutions. Submissions now through August 2, 2024
Wien (OTS/BMAW) – Labor and Economics Minister Martin Kocher and Climate Protection Minister Leonore Gewessler have announced the “Smart Packaging 2024” state prize. “Sustainability and climate protection, optimal design and technological change are the focus of current innovations in the packaging industry. Excellent packaging solutions must meet a variety of ecological, technical and design requirements. With our state prize we honor exemplary environmentally and user-friendly packaging developments,” said Federal Minister Leonore Gewessler and Federal Minister Martin Kocher.
The Federal Ministry of Labor and Economic Affairs, in cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology, awards the “State Smart Packaging Prize” every two years. This is the BMAW’s oldest state prize and will be awarded for the 61st time this year. Participation in the State Prize is possible in the following three categories:
- B2B: Transport, outer and sales packaging for commercial end users
- B2C: Sales packaging for private end consumers
- Packaging of the future: Designing packaging in the spirit of “Design for Recycling”
Special prices
In addition, two special prizes will be awarded as part of the state awards ceremony, for which submissions can also be made now:
- Branding: Recognition of innovative solutions in brand management, refinement, design and equipment of packaging.
- Innovation: Drafts/models/prototypes/concepts/studies for products and design concepts that have not yet been implemented but are economically, environmentally and socio-politically promising can be submitted.
Exemplary packaging solutions
Submissions that also represent above-average solutions and are shortlisted for a prize, but are not nominated for the State Prize, will be awarded the title “Exemplary Packaging Solution” by the jury.
WorldStar Packaging Award
State awards, nominations and special awards entitle you to participate in the WorldStar Packaging Award. Simultaneous submission for the state prize or the special prizes is possible and can be done until August 2, 2024. A jury of experts evaluates the projects.
