The children’s program on ORF 1 and ORF KIDS will explore the human body again in 2025
Vienna (OTS) – Not all questions about our bodies have been answered yet. Why does our own voice sound different in videos? What can we do to grow faster? How is it possible for a person to lift a car? The second season of the award-winning “OKIDOKI” format “The Miracle of YOU” – a series written by Thomas Brezina – is currently being produced in Vienna and explores the human body with a young audience in 13 new episodes. Doctor and presenter Christine Reiler addresses many exciting questions about the human body. She is supported by the “OKIDOKI” presenting duo Melanie Flicker and Christoph Hirschler. Whether in radiology, on the sports field, in the laboratory or in the Museum of Illusions – Melly and Christoph are where there are answers. There is again a lot to marvel at for the guessing and quizzing kids in the studio and the young audience! “The Miracle of YOU” will be shown in 2025 in the “OKIDOKI” children’s program on ORF 1 and also on ORF KIDS.
Martin Gastinger: “Offering children’s television is not only a public service mandate, but also extremely important, because children are our viewers of tomorrow. The ORF formats must be so modern that we can keep up with the many offerings on the market. ‘Das Wunder DU’ corresponds to the spirit of the times and contributes to this diversity.”
Thomas Brezina provided the idea, concept and script for “The Miracle of YOU”: “Christine Reiler will answer the most impossible questions in her special consultation. There are again many exciting topics about the incredible achievements of the body, such as the strength that a person can muster. One of Austria’s strongest men shows us this.”
Christine Reiler brings her knowledge as a doctor to “The Miracle of YOU”:
“I’m also fascinated by how the body works and how it can be healed and supported. The great thing about the show is that there are lots of experiments and guests and the medical part is not taught in a dry way, but is learned interactively – the children can ask questions, guess and try out a lot of things themselves.”
Fascination for knowledge: discovering and understanding the human body
What enormous achievements are our organs capable of? We spend 24 hours a day with a miracle called the “body”. Its functions and abilities seem self-evident. Medical devices serve as a way to discover and understand the body. Things invisible to the naked eye are made visible. In each episode of “The Miracle of YOU”, Christine Reiler, Melanie Flicker and Christoph Hirschler devote themselves to an overarching theme, which is demonstrated and explained using various examples, examinations and tests. The topics of the programs include:
Illusions, growth, balance, speaking, hair and strength. Filming locations are the colorful practice, the wonder meeting place and the children’s meeting place for the guessing and guessing kids.
The 15-minute episodes of “Das Wunder DU” are produced by Tower10 on behalf of ORF and in co-production with ZDF.
Award for “The Miracle YOU” at the WorldMediaFestivals 2024
The first season of “Das Wunder DU” will be honored with an award at the WorldMediaFestivals 2024 on May 29 in Hamburg. In the category “Children & Youth: Edutainment Ages 5-10”, the “intermedia-globe GOLD” award goes to the “OKIDOKI” format, which has been delighting young audiences on ORF 1 and ORF KIDS since autumn 2023. After awards for “Voll stark”, “Trickfabrik”, “7 Wunder”, “ABC Bär”, “Genau so geht’s”, “KNALL GENIAL”, “Tolle Tiere”, “Schmatzo – Kochen mit WOW”, “Museum AHA”, “1000 Tricks” and “Mega Moment”, this is already the twelfth award for an ORF children’s format at the WorldMediaFestivals.
