(apro).- After several hours of uncertainty and official statements about the alleged death of Adrián Guerrero Caracheo, a candidate for councilor on the ticket of Gisela Gaytán, Morena’s candidate for mayor of Celaya murdered on Monday afternoon, authorities of Guanajuato confirmed that he was found alive.

So far it is only known that the candidate for first councilor of Morena in Celaya was taking shelter after the attack in which Gisela Gaytán died, he is with his family.

Since Monday night, the team of the gubernatorial candidate, Alma Alcaraz, confirmed the alleged death of Adrián Guerrero, while Ernesto Prieto Gallardo, candidate for federal deputy for district 8, condemned the murder of Gisela Gaytán and “another companion “.

However, the official confirmation was made by Rosa Icela Rodríguez, Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, during the morning press conference this Tuesday.

“To regret the murders of Bertha Gisela Gaytán Gutiérrez, candidate for municipal president in Celaya Guanajuato, and Adrián Guerrero Caracheo, candidate for councilor in Celaya Guanajuato, both for the Morena party,” Icela Rodríguez told Rosa to send condolences to their families and friends. .

In Guanajuato, the state leadership, the candidate for governor Alma Alcaraz and Ricardo Sheffield, candidate for the Senate, asked to observe a minute of silence in memory of Gisela and Adrián.

Ricardo Sheffield even gave details about the death of Adrián Guerrero, stating that he had died while receiving medical attention.

“Gisela Gaytán died at the scene and three injured people were taken to a hospital. One of them, the candidate for first councilor, Adrián Guerrero, died in the hospital,” he said.

For its part, the Guanajuato Prosecutor’s Office denied the death of the candidate for councilor at all times. It confirmed the death of Gisela Gaytán and three injured people, two men and a woman.

The denial came from the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection headed by Rosa Icela Rodríguez, through a brief press release in which she was told that she was “not located.”

Just a few hours later, it was confirmed that the candidate is with his family in fear, after the attack in which his party partner died.

In the press conference that Morena called on Tuesday morning, they also denounced the lack of response from the Electoral Institute of the State of Guanajuato (IEEG) in the efforts to provide protection to nine candidates for mayor, including Gisela Gaytán.

According to Ricardo Sheffield Padilla, the request was made in writing to the National Electoral Institute (INE) for federal forces to provide protection, but the electoral authority granted special security to him as a candidate for the Senate and to the gubernatorial candidate, Alma. Alcaraz.

The request for the municipalities was channeled to the IEEG, an institute that responded to Morena on March 12, pointing out that they had not yet started the campaigns for city councils, so the request would have to be made later and fulfilling a series of requirements such as the presentation of a report to the Public Ministry if they had threats.

However, Gisela Gaytán was murdered just a few hours after starting the campaign, without complying with the procedure established in a protocol approved by the IEEG.
