Unlike other Apple products, users who forget the Vision Pro headset password must send the device back to the store for restoration, causing a lot of trouble.
Apple announced that if the Vision Pro password is forgotten, the buyer must bring the headset back to the store or send it to the AppleCare customer service center to restore the password. This is just one of the annoyances that early buyers of the $3,499 device encountered.

Apple employees were inundated with questions from those struggling to install Optic ID (an eyeball scanning tool to log in to devices) to the built-in Apple Music app.
However, the problem with passwords is considered the most annoying. When the customer enters the wrong password many times, the headset will be disabled. If they still cannot remember the password after a certain period of time, they need to return it to Apple. Then, all content on the device will be deleted.
This odd thing does not happen with other products from the same “defective apple” family. For example, the Apple Watch has a mechanism that allows users to reset if they forget their password. Maybe, in the future, iPhone manufacturers will update the software so that users can reset their password without having to return the product.
On Apple’s community forums, one customer recounted speaking to a company employee who was receiving countless calls about the problem. “He had to deal with a lot of angry customers after telling them the only solution was to send it back to the store. He said Apple Support had not considered this and apologized for not being better prepared.
Another problem is that the Vision Pro does not have a USBC-C port, which allows connection to a Mac computer for troubleshooting. Last week, Apple released a special strap for programmers to attach headsets to Macs, but this accessory costs $30 and is not available to individual customers.
Vision Pro is Apple’s first new hardware category since smartwatches nearly a decade ago. The device was not expected to become a “blockbuster” – partly because of its high price – but there were still curious customers who came to the Apple Store last weekend to experience it.
Initial reaction to the Vision Pro has been generally positive. Many people appreciate the device’s video streaming and working features.
