South American Under-20 Athletics Championships begins this weekend in Lima

The best Peruvian participants in the South American Athletics Championships will automatically qualify for the World Championships in the same category

This Friday, July 12, at the stadium National Sports Village (Videna)will begin the South American Under-20 Athletics Championship. The event is crucial to select the athletes who will represent Peru in the World Athletics U20 Championships Lima 2024scheduled for August 27-31 at the same venue, exactly 50 days from now.

The South American U20 Championship will not only serve as preparation for the World Cup, but is also considered an event of national interest. Approximately 1,600 athletes from 170 countries are expected to participate in the World Championship, making it the largest event of a single sporting discipline ever organized in Peru.
