In the first leg of the CONMEBOL Sudamericana 2024 playoff (round of 16), Cerro Porteño was unable to give up the home win by tying 1-1 with Athletico Paranaense from Brazil. Miguel Benítez gave the Ciclón from Barrio Obrero the lead, Christian Alves tied the score for Furacao.

The return match will be at the Arena Da Baixada stadium in Curitiba, next Thursday, July 25th, starting at 8:30 p.m.
