South African great’s honest stance on Rohit Sharma-Hardik Pandya’s ‘personality’ clash in MI

Before appointing the all-rounder as the captain of the franchise, MI made a big call by trading Hardik Pandya to Gujarat Titans. The decision came as a big shock to many as the franchise had won five titles under Rohit’s leadership. Former South African fast bowler Dale Steyn believes that including Hardik in the team in place of Rohit can prove to be challenging for the team.

“I think it will be challenging – the whole dynamic of leaving Mumbai and then coming back to Mumbai. I hope they have some kind of camp a month before the IPL. So, whatever is troubling anyone, it should be addressed. The game will be settled much sooner than later,” the former RCB fast bowler told news agency PTI.

However, Steyn is hopeful that everyone including Rohit and Hardik will handle the matter with professionalism.

“You’ve got big personalities, people who have done decision-making before and are now in a different role. This could be the small needle that we won’t be able to see or hear on TV. But, these international cricketers know that How to put your ego aside, and I think Mumbai will be absolutely fine,” he said.

Meanwhile, Hardik promised MI fans that they will try to play a brand that everyone will be proud of.
