A sleeper bus carrying more than 30 people on National Highway 1 through Ninh Thuan province suddenly caught fire, engulfing the entire vehicle.
On the afternoon of August 23, Mr. Nguyen Chien drove a sleeper bus with license plate 49B-013.41 from Binh Dinh to Bao Loc City (Lam Dong province).
When reaching Highway 1, passing through Loi Hai Commune, Thuan Bac District (Ninh Thuan Province), the car suddenly caught fire. The fire spread quickly, engulfing the entire car. There were more than 30 passengers on the car at that time, who panicked and escaped.
Passengers said that at that time, the car was stopped. The driver opened the trunk to get the goods and discovered a fire, so he shouted for everyone to get out of the car.
Authorities, Fire Police and related units arrived at the scene to spray water to put out the fire. There were no casualties, but the car was charred black and its cargo burned and damaged.
