In Eden they drink to grief! For his birthday, coach Trpišovský received a bottle of Dom Pérignon 2013 wine for 6,000 crowns from the owner of the Tykač club, but he was defeated by the club in the 309th derby.
The first part of the duel between Prague’s »S« in five days is behind us. The cup appetizer of Sunday’s main course in the league served on Letná (18:00, O2 TV Sport) was spoiled by Sparta in Eden. She eliminated Slavia from the MOL Cup in the quarterfinals (3:2 in extra time).
It was a great match, and billionaire Pavel Tykač (59) was torn between euphoria and sadness on the sidewalk during it. The day after the final acquisition of the shares, the owner of Slavia was for the first time officially confirmed as the owner of his employees.
With the scarf of his football love around his neck, he found himself in paradise in the 39th minute. He set his hands on fire with applause as Schranz slotted the ball right to the post of the red Vorla substitute goalkeeper. When the flying Mandous brilliantly caught a free kick from Leten Birmančevič, Tykač could happily go to the VIP party.
A huge turnaround
“If Sparta didn’t exist, it would be boring, and if we win most of the derbies, then I’ll be satisfied.” declared Pavel Tykač. It wasn’t really boring, but the premier victory in the »S« race will have to wait. His boys blew a two-goal lead, missed Olatunji twice and burned through the hell of overtime.
Vlček played awkwardly with his hand in the goal, after which Karabec completed a giant turn from the top ten! “It’s scary. We lost a fantastically played match. This must not happen, we must not make such mistakes” Ivan Schranz (30), mourned the striker of the defeated staples.
Tykač spent the end of the hectic drama symbolically under the blanket, and somewhere in the distance, at that moment, the owner of Sparta and his juice in the energy business and in football, Daniel Křetínský, chuckled… “I believed in the penalty. We showed again that we know how to handle matches, even if we don’t do well in them. We showed a winning mentality,” Adam Karabec (20), the author of Sparta’s winning goal, shone into the darkness over Vršovice.
This is how Pavel Tykač enjoyed his first Slavia match as owner
