Fury and Usyk will share the ring on May 18 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Fury believes he will have one basic but significant advantage in this fight.
“He can beat the big guys who are mediocre, but he won’t be able to beat the elite big boxers. Size matters, that’s why we have weight divisions in boxing,” Fury said.
The two boxers really have a significant height difference. Usyk, who spent most of his career in the so-called cruiser division, is 191 centimeters tall, while Fury is 15 centimeters taller.
The British boxer called himself a “boxing encyclopedia”, mentioning that others did too cruiser legends of the division such as Evander Holyfield and David Hayes suffered setbacks in the super heavyweight division.
As for Usyk’s previous opponents, Fury singled out Daniel Dubois, whose abilities he described as “limited.”
Also, Fury made it clear that he will end his boxing career if he recognizes the superiority of the Ukrainian wrestler on May 18.
“If Tyson Fury can’t beat Usika, then Tyson Fury is good for nothing. Period. This is my time, my destiny, my era and my generation,” the British boxer concluded.
Fury is undefeated in his professional career with 34 wins in 35 fights. He fought to a draw against Deontay Wilder once.
