Simonyan mocked the action at the border – 2024-08-20 14:19:47

The change of power in Armenia can happen only with the parliamentary elections to be held in 2026.

Publika.az reports that the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Alen Simonyan, told journalists about the issue related to the “Tavush for the Homeland” initiative.

“I don’t know if the number of marchers is increasing or not, let them come and talk.”

According to Simonyan, the difference between this movement and the march they started in 2018 is that at that time the government was not formed through elections.

From the point of view of the Speaker of the Parliament, at that time the people of Armenia regained the right to choose and choose the government they want and confirmed their decision in 2021.

He also said that he saw a strange trace in the movement that started in Tavush. As evidence of this, bloggers with specific geopolitical orientations have announced that they have joined the movement.

“How many times can you use the same logic and simply try to repeat what we did, in any case, in the end they will still bring Vazgen Manukyan, Robert Kocharyan, Serzh Sargsyan: “Banana Migran”, Artur Vanetsyan”, Siumonyan said.

It should be recalled that on April 19, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia announced that, based on the results of the eighth meeting of state commissions, Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to start delimitation from Tavush province and to complete the approval of the draft charter by July 1.

Since the evening hours of that day, the inhabitants of the border villages of Tavush, who are dissatisfied with the agreements between Yerevan and Baku, have been holding protests.

On May 4, representatives of the “Tavush for the Motherland” movement, led by Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, the Primate of the Armenian Apostolic Church’s Tavush Diocese, started a march from Kirants village to Yerevan. On May 9, they plan to come to the capital of Armenia.
