A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) and Bangladesh Internet Governance Forum (BIGF). Director of Systems and Services Department Lt. Col. SM Rezaur Rahman on behalf of the commission and Secretary General of the organization Mohammad Abdul Haque on behalf of BIGF signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations at the BTRC office in Agargaon in the capital on Tuesday morning.
According to the MoU, Bangladesh’s views and positions in the ‘Summit for the Future’ and ‘Global Digital Compact’ conferences will help in carrying out mutual cooperation activities on public awareness and stakeholder engagement on internet governance.

Chairman of BTRC Engineer Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed said, BRTC has been assisting BIGF in various activities related to internet policy governance in the past years and the signing of this MoU will speed up and make these activities more meaningful.
BIGF Chairperson Hasanul Haq Inu said that the signing of the MoU has created more opportunities to work with BTRC on ‘Summit for the Future’ and implementation of Digital Compact and Internet Policy.
Director General of Systems and Services Department of BTRC Brigadier General Mohammad Khalil-ur-Rahman conducted the memorandum of understanding ceremony, vice-chairman of the commission. Aminul Haque, Commissioner of Spectrum Division, Engineer Sheikh Riaz Ahmed, Commissioner of Finance, Accounts and Revenue Division. Mushfiq Mannan Chowdhury, Commissioner. Delwar Hossain and others were present.
