Accused in the murder case of MP Anwarul Azim Anna of Jhenaidah-4 Constituency. A court in West Bengal ordered Siam Hossain to CID custody for 14 days. The judge gave this order when he was taken to Barasat District and Sessions Court of North 24 Parganas on Saturday (June 8) afternoon.
On this day, the case came up in the court of Acting Chief Justice Sangeeta Let. The judge asked the CID officials for how many days they wanted to remand the accused. In response, the CID said that the 14-day custody would lead to progress in their investigation. Hearing this, the judge ordered Siam to CID custody for 14 days.

The State Police Intelligence Department (CID) arrested Siam last Friday from Bangaon area of North 24 Parganas of West Bengal bordering Bangladesh.
The accused has been booked under four non-bailable sections of the Indian Penal Code – 364 (kidnapping with intent to murder), 302 (culpable homicide), 201 (disposal of evidence) and 34 (organization of criminal activity).
Assistant Public Prosecutor Mandakranta Mukherjee said that the CID wanted Siam in 14-day custody to speed up the investigation including finding the body parts of MP Anar, recovering the weapons used in the murder. The court granted it. The Assistant Public Prosecutor also said that Section 120B (Criminal Conspiracy) will be added against Siam later.
Earlier, after much drama on Friday (June 7) night, West Bengal police’s intelligence agency CID said that Siam, one of the accused in MP Anna’s murder, has been arrested.

In a statement from the CID, the resident of the 8th ward of Burhad Uddin village of Bhola district of Bangladesh. Siam He is 33 years old. Siam’s father’s name is Alauddin Bali. After the killing of Jhenaidah-4 Constituency MP Anwarul Azim Anar, SIAM covered the area bordering Bangaon. Later CID raided the secret information base and arrested him.
The CID arrested Siam Hossain and Jihad Howladar, two associates of Akhtaruzzaman Shaheen, the main accused in MP Anna’s murder.
Earlier, the CID arrested a suspect named Jihad Howladar for his alleged involvement in the murder. On May 23, he was also arrested from Bangaon in North 24 Parganas. By interrogating Jihad, the investigating officers came to know about Siam’s involvement in the murder.
It is alleged that MP Anar was murdered in Sanjiba Garden on May 13. It is suspected that Siam was involved in this murder and body disappearance. Siam was also seen in CCTV footage that emerged from the posh Newtown building.
It was said from the beginning that Siam fled to Nepal after killing MP Anar. An investigative team headed by Dhaka Metropolitan Police Intelligence Branch (DB) chief Haroon Or Rashid went to Nepal to look for him. But finally CID arrested Siam from Bangaon area of West Bengal bordering Bangladesh.
Earlier, the court ordered 14 days judicial custody of one of the accused Jihad Howladar alias Butcher Jihad in this murder case. Chief Judicial Magistrate Subhankar Biswas gave this order when he was produced in the Barasat District and Sessions Court last Friday. Accordingly, Jihad will be produced in court again on June 21. At the moment he is incarcerated in Dum Dum Central Jail. However, the investigating officers of the CID can go to the jail and interrogate him with the permission of the court.
