The pilot and our Rescue-9 Tugboat from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure General Directorate of Coastal Safety arrived at the scene. The Bosphorus was closed to ship traffic in both directions. After the ship was rescued, the Bosphorus was opened to traffic.

In the statements made by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the following statements were made:

“For the 176-meter-long ship named Cornelia, which had a machinery malfunction in front of Beşiktaş in the Bosphorus, our Pilot and Rescue-9 Tugboat, affiliated with the General Directorate of Coastal Safety of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, were immediately directed to the scene. Ship traffic in the Bosphorus has been temporarily suspended in both directions. “The ship named Cornelia has started its engine and continues its voyage through the Bosphorus, accompanied by our pilot and our tugboats Rescue-9 and Rescue-12.” – ISTANBUL
