Virtual president-elect Claudia Sheinbaum announced that she is working on creating a Business Advisory Council, which will begin at the start of her administration, to be linked to the private sector to promote regional development and the relocation of companies in the country.
He explained that the council It will be under the leadership of businesswoman and member of her team Altagracia Gómezto coordinate the various departments of his government, the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, the Ministry of Economy, and Energy, among others.
“It is a council of businessmen that Alta Gracia would coordinate and that would be in contact with Marcelo, with Rogelio Ramírez de la O, and with the different ones, with Luz Elena González who would make up the work plan that we want to develop as Secretaries of State. (…) we would promote it from the moment we come to power. Separate would be the dialogue that the president has with Mexican businessmen.”
“There is a desire for investment,” says Sheinbaum
Regarding the private meeting with members of the International Monetary Conference (IMC), Claudia Sheinbaum highlighted that “there is a desire for investment” on the part of bankers.
“We did very well, there is a lot of interest in investing in Mexico and we are very enthusiastic about the next six years that this will generate not only investment, but also development and well-being for Mexicans,” he said.
Meanwhile, the next Secretary of Economy, Marcelo Ebrard, explained that the campaign proposals were presented at the meeting, Among them are well-being centres, infrastructure projects and shared prosperity.and noted that the figure for private initiative, in terms of investment in Mexico, amounts to 46 billion dollars.
“The reception of this presentation was very positive, because it was very concrete, very specific, because it is good news for the private sector (…) the investment climate we have is very good, perhaps the most optimistic we have seen so far this century,” added Ebrard.
The meeting was attended by Agustín Carstens, CEO of the Bank for International Settlements; Felipe García, Director of Santander; Eduardo Osuna, CEO of BBVA; Adrián Otero, CEO of Scotiabank Mexico, among others.
