Sheinbaum once again asks the markets for calm: “The Mexican economy is very solid”

MEXICO CITY (apro).– For the second consecutive day and after the peso continued to lose value against the dollar, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, virtual president-elect of the Republic, defended the “solidity” of the Mexican economy and denied that there was “ “nervousness” in the financial markets due to the probability that the reform of the Judiciary will be approved next September.

In a conference at her transitional house, the former head of government of Mexico City was questioned about the persistence of volatility in the financial markets caused by the uncertainty of the process to approve the reform of the Judiciary proposed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and that she supports.

In a calm tone, he assured: “The Mexican economy is very solid, there is investment, foreign, many foreign investors asked me for meetings, we met this week, everyone wants to continue investing in Mexico, foreigners, nationals. There is no structural problem, the internal economy is fine, that is, the Mexican economy is solid.”

The Morenista insisted that “these are special moments and it will be adjusted, there is no nervousness, a problem, we are sure of the solidity of the national economy.” And she recalled the defense of the economy that President López Obrador made in the morning.

Incidentally, he said that the Permanent Commission of the Congress of the Union would report today on the discussion forums of the reform of the Judicial Branch. And he justified:

“They are going to make a proposal, we have to leave it to them, of how to start this process of discussion on judicial reform. They had already had some first forums where even ministers of the Supreme Court, magistrates, lawyers participated; They did not call it Open Parliament, it has another name clearly established in the regulations of Congress, but since we were in the electoral process, it was not as widely disseminated, so now they are going to make a proposal.”
