LEÓN, Gto. (apro).- The presidential candidate Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo closed the campaign in Guanajuato with criticism of the PAN state government’s distribution of pink cards with economic support for women, a social program created by the now PAN-PRI-PRD candidate for the governorship, Libya García Muñoz Ledo.
In front of more than 20 thousand people who gathered at the Velaria of the León Fair, Sheinbaum commented that, together with his father, a businessman dedicated to the tannery, he visited the municipality of León very often, and remembers the city as ” a model to follow, there was well-being, there was work with good salaries”, but after more than 30 years of PAN governments it became one of the poorest municipalities in the country.
“33 years of PAN government. What did it leave León, Guanajuato, and all of Guanajuato?: poverty, youth addictions, violence, insecurity, low salaries, corruption,” said the candidate of the Morena-PVEM-PT coalition for the Presidency of the Republic.
In her speech to accompany the candidate for governor, Alma Alcaraz Hernández, she demanded that the PAN intend to maintain another six years of state government with the delivery of the pink card, a program that consists of supporting one thousand pesos per month to the women beneficiaries. who only had to meet the requirement of being over 18 years old and living in Guanajuato.
“They intend to exchange a vote for a card for a woman. Do you think they are going to maintain that program? They do it as an electoral way to buy the vote,” said Claudia Sheinbaum before the promise of the PAN candidate, Libia García Muñoz Ledo, to give a pink card to all the women of Guanajuato to win the governorship.
In 2024 alone, in an election year, the Government of Guanajuato allocated three thousand 600 million pesos to provide support to 300 thousand women. The program began in 2023 with Libia García as Secretary of Human Social Development and candidate for governor, with the delivery of just over 70 thousand pink cards.
“Do not sell your will, do not sell your future, because what you receive today will later translate into more poverty, more inequality, violence, if you have already governed for 33 years and could not, how are you going to be able to for the next six years?” said the presidential candidate.
In the polls, the PAN-PRI-PRD candidate, Libia García Muñoz Ledo, maintains electoral preference, although some measurements place her with less than five percentage points of difference from the Morenoist candidate, Alma Alcaraz.
In her closing speech, Alma Alcaraz also criticized the distribution of the pink cards, but promised women universality in the delivery of 3 thousand pesos every two months to Guanajuato women.
“We want to support women, but not like the PAN cheats are doing, who come up with a little card right now because it’s the elections. We want to give support to women of 3 thousand pesos every two months directly, universally, without intermediaries and we are going to take it to the Constitution,” promised the Morena-PVEM-PT candidate for the governorship of Guanajuato.
