Shamai Yamrom won the silver medal in the European Compound Archery Championship

Archer Shamai Yamrom won the silver medal today (Saturday) at the European Championships in the compound model (non-Olympic), held in Germany. Yamarom lost the final match to the Dane Latheus Floroton ranked 3rd in the world, with the result 147:144. 19-year-old Yamrom continues his dream year, which began with winning the European Indoor Championships in February.

Yamarom started the competition with 712 points in the rating section, which gave him second place in the knockout competition rating. Following the high ranking, Yamrom went through the first two rounds without competing and began his journey in the third round, in which Yamrom won 143:149 against the Swedish Jacob Banshild.

In the round of 16, he defeated the silver medalist in the team division at the 2017 World Championship, the Italian Federico Pagnoni in a shootout, to a tie 146:146 between them. In the quarter finals, Yamrom Yamrom set a new European youth record and defeated 147:150 the second ranked Slovakian Yosef Bosanski in the world, who won the European Games in 2023.

Yamrom continued the wonderful momentum and beat the Turkish Amirkan Hanai 147:148 in the semi-finals. In the final match Yamarom met the Danish Mattheus Floroton, the silver medalist in the World Championship in the group stage in 2023 and the silver medalist in the European Championship in 2021. This time Yamrom had a hard time and lost in the final 147:144.
