“Several criteria are observed in applications for access to healthcare” – MINSA

News from Angola – The national director of human resources at the Ministry of Health (MINSA), Baptista Monteiro, stated on Monday, 12, in Luanda, that, for access to the ministry, through a public tender, several criteria are observed.

The person responsible clarifies, therefore, that the age limit criterion is not the only evaluation criterion, when responding to complaints from candidates for the public competition, as it is also required to have qualifications corresponding to the category in which they compete, to be an Angolan citizen, Covid-19 booster dose and medical career title.

During the period in which the candidates registered, Presidential Decree No. 102/11 of May 23 was in force, and after the complaints were closed, a new diploma was approved, the General Public Administration Law, which allows the age to be extended.

Baptista Monteiro assures that the ministry will analyze each case and will make a decision on the matter, before the exams begin.

The National Director of Human Resources recalled that the public competition began on May 30th of the current year and candidates had twenty working days to register, followed by the publication of provisional lists and a period for complaints.

Candidates, he pointed out, during the complaints period had the opportunity to edit, change documents and make the necessary corrections and, subsequently, the definitive lists of them were published, those who were admitted to exams and those excluded.

Baptista Monteiro explains that, based on the number of complaints, they had to organize teams to check each citizen’s applications and analyze each one’s decision.

“I make it clear that they are not receiving new processes, they are evaluating the entire process and will later comment via the Portal”, he assured.

Zacaria Augusto Botelho, candidate for the Clinical Analysis course, is forty-one (41) years old, and complained about having been excluded due to age.

“I don’t agree because the law stipulates the age limit of forty-five (45) years, I am younger”, he said.

In turn, Geraldo Catumbela, candidate for the 3rd class Medium Technician area, said that his complaint was due to the fact that he was not identified due to the lack of a professional card.

The candidate managed to make his complaint and is confident that his situation will be resolved this time.

In turn, the interim deputy director of the Luanda Provincial Health Office, Elísio dos Santos, said that many of the candidates did not make their complaints on the Portal and, under the guidance of the Minister of Health, Sílvia Lutucuta, they had the opportunity to open the platform and assess the situation.

The leader appealed to the candidates for calm because they are doing everything they can to respond to the complaints presented.
