At least seven people are hospitalized after being shot by an unknown person who began shooting at spectators at a soccer match in the Cayman Islands, local media reported this Monday.
According to some witnesses who were enjoying a challenge between the Elite SC and Academy clubs on Sunday night, at the Ed Bush stadium in West Bay (west), dozens of people were at halftime near the field’s locker room when The suspect shot at them, wounding seven of them.

No trace of the attacker
One of the wounded was shot three times, two of them in his back, collapsing in one of the stadium tunnels. The victim was assisted by a member of one of the medical teams of one of the soccer clubs. Police confirmed that the seven injured were taken to a nearby hospital with “serious gunshot wounds.”
A witness who spoke with the newspaper ‘Compass’ reported that he heard at least ten gunshots. Other people said that they saw some Elite SC players with a stretcher carrying one of the injured and waiting for an ambulance to take him to the nearest clinic.
So far, the attacker has not been arrested by the Police.
