“Market on Trial” in Seestadt Aspern is celebrating its first anniversary
Vienna (OTS) – It is held every Friday – and has been for a year now: the Mazzucco market on Eva-Maria-Mazzucco-Platz in Seestadt Aspern. To mark this small anniversary, the market office and the Vienna Chamber of Commerce are inviting you to a birthday party on Friday, May 3, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
In addition to culinary specialties, there are many attractions for young and old. There are great prizes every hour when you spin the prize wheel, live music from 2 p.m. with Soberl and Romeo from Wiener madness, and a bouncy castle for the little guests. Many attractive prizes will be raffled off at the final big raffle draw at 6 p.m.
Market on trial with great popularity
The Mazzucco market began as a so-called trial market in May 2023. At that time, acceptance among the population was tested on six consecutive Fridays. The result was clear; visitors accepted the market from the first minute, so the trial period was extended.
Redesign of Eva Maria Mazzucco Square
The Eva-Maria-Mazzucco-Platz was redesigned, greened and cooled in 2023 according to the motto “Get out of the asphalt”. Over 1,100 additional m2 were also unsealed and planted and heat islands were defused. 9 green beds with grasses, perennials and bushes make the space in the heart of the Seestadt attractive.
In addition to the 9 existing trees, 12 new so-called XXL trees were planted in the newly created green areas. All newly created green areas were provided with automatic irrigation and perennial planting. The newly designed square is perfect for a market and is increasingly developing into a neighborhood meeting place.
