Secondary school admissions: Some students are still uncertain

Applicants to study at secondary schools who have not yet been accepted anywhere can still apply for the third and subsequent rounds of the admission procedure. Interested parties can find a list of schools that currently offer places in various fields on the website of the DiPSy system. In the third and subsequent rounds, applications are submitted exclusively in paper form, not through the DiPSy system. Specific dates for submitting applications and holding exams in the next rounds are set by the school management, so they differ at different schools. This follows from information on the website DiPSy and prihlaskynastredni.cz and information provided by the Ministry of Education.

“According to the Education Act, for the third and subsequent rounds, most of the provisions applicable to the first and second rounds of the admission procedure do not apply. Schools are still announcing further rounds of admission if they have vacancies. The DiPSy system does not evaluate these rounds of the admission procedure, and applicants submit applications only and only to school principals, in an unlimited number,” the ministry said.

As the rounds of the admission procedure are still being announced and these rounds may overlap, the ministry or the state organization Cermat cannot provide any more detailed final information, the ministry said when asked by ČTK. He will have information only after the completion of the next rounds, he added.

Candidates can view the courses offered in the third and subsequent rounds in the DiPSy system search by region, district, form of study and field of study. For example, in Prague some private grammar schools or, for example, a private pedagogical lyceum at Scio secondary school offer places. Vacancies are available, for example, at some vocational high schools with a high school diploma in distance learning.
