Season 2 of House of Dragons started with a surprising sex scene

The new season of Sárkánok háza started over the weekend, and it has already given fans several topics to talk about.

One of the spectacular changes compared to the previous season of House of Dragons is the main title. In season one, we saw a streak of blood winding its way through King Viserys’ (Paddy Considine) old model of Valyria. The viewers were not too thrilled with the minimalist solution, especially since the creators only recycled the music from Game of Thrones.

Although revised, Ramin Djawadi’s iconic theme music remained for the new season, but the images were replaced. The new animation depicts a medieval tapestry that weaves in line with the show’s history, depicting earlier moments in Targaryen history. The traces of blood are still present, but much more subtly, gradually soaking the tapestry. As the season progresses, the carpet will be expanded with new moments from previous episodes.

Series co-creator and showrunner Ryan Condal told THR why the cast was changed and what he liked best about the new design.

“Because of the amazing opening scene of the original series, we wanted to continue the tradition of the changing title. In the original series, the titles change as the geography of the series changes, showing more and more of Westeros. We wanted to continue that with the title, but as we got to the end of the first season, we realized , that the story of the bloodlines and lineage that we told in that season – 20 years in the first season – is over, because now every Targaryen ancestor is on the map. That’s why we decided to make a radical change. Now that we’re at war, it’s living history, and we want to represent that history visually and give fans new things to take apart and immerse themselves in.”

Of course, fans are probably more excited about what happens after the headliner. In the first part, they got something they hardly expected: Ser Criston Cole, Princess Rhaenys’s former knight (and willing fiancé) in one scene gives oral pleasure to his new mistress, Queen Alicent. King Viserys had only been dead for about ten days at this point, so the widow was comforted pretty quickly.

Many fans have pointed out that it was Alicent who condemned Rhaenys for her alleged immoral behavior, saying things like “honor and decency will prevail in the end,” and she was pretty lighthearted in comparison.

Our review of the 2nd season of The House of Sárkánok, or more precisely the first 4 episodes, will be read here on Porto on Tuesday morning.
