The judge of the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE), Noel Orellana, reported that the Nuevas Ideas party would have obtained a total of 54 deputies in the Legislative Assembly, according to unofficial data that he provided this day.
Orellana indicated that, compared to the other political parties, Nuevas Ideas obtained the majority of seats for the 2024-2027 legislature
«I want to express that these are not official data, they are unofficial data that we have obtained from the number of votes that have been sent to us by the Computer Systems Unit. For example, in the case of the New Ideas Party, it would be obtaining 54 seats in the Legislative Assembly; in the case of the PCN party, two deputies; the PDC, a deputy; Arena, two deputies; and in the case of the Vamos party, a deputy,” explained Judge Orellana.

On the other hand, the magistrate reported that, based on preliminary data, the Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front (FMLN) did not obtain any deputies for the new legislative period. The last time this happened was in 1994, when the FMLN participated for the first time in elections after its formation as a political party.
Likewise, the Grand Alliance for National Unity (GANA) party is left without representation in the first State Body, having not achieved enough votes for a deputation; while the Nuestro Tiempo party also did not obtain seats in the Legislative Assembly.
The scrutiny of the 14 departments of El Salvador for the elections to the Legislative Assembly ended this Sunday, February 18, at the 300 tables installed in the José Pineda National Gymnasium, San Salvador. The TSE confirmed this fact and assured that, at the end of the San Salvador vote count, the 14 departments were completed.
