JERUSALEM – Artificial intelligence technology AI is used to reconstruct the face of Jesus from the Shroud of Turin. AI analyzes the patterns on the cloth to produce a visual depiction of the man allegedly wrapped inside.

As reported by The Sun, Friday (23/8/2024), the latest research showing the authenticity of this cloth with DNA evidence and typical Jerusalem materials supports the claim that the cloth may have actually been used to wrap Jesus’ body after the Crucifixion.

The Shroud of Turin, This cloth, believed by some to be the one used to wrap the body of Jesus Christ after the Crucifixion, has been the subject of intensive research for many years.

The cloth features a faint image of a man bearing various wounds, including those believed to be the result of the Crucifixion.

A new analysis by scientists at the University of Padua in Italy has identified blood particles and Jerusalem-specific materials on the cloth, suggesting evidence of organ failure, trauma and disease that could be related to the condition of a crucified body.

The discovery of materials typical of Jerusalem supports the claim that the cloth originated in the region, rather than Europe, where some skeptics consider it a copy or fake.

Quoted from the Catholic Herald, the results of isotope tests provide new evidence that the shroud is the actual clothing used to cover the body of Jesus Christ after the crucifixion, and not a fake cloth made in medieval Europe.

Fragments of cloth taken from the shroud indicate the flax came from the western Levant, an area currently occupied by Israel, Lebanon, and western Jordan and Syria.

“With its possible Eastern origin, new doubts must be raised about the interpretation of the shroud as simply a forgery made in medieval Europe, and new questions must be raised about what the images on the shroud signify,” said William Meacham, an American archaeologist who conducted the study.

“The possibility that this cloth is actually the burial cloth of Jesus is strengthened by this new evidence. In my view, it remains the best explanation for the shroud,” he said.
