JAKARTA – Brazilian scientists discovered an extraordinary archaeological site in the form of fossilized dinosaur footprints from millions of years ago.

The findings, published in the journal Scientific Reports, provide an interesting picture of how prehistoric humans interacted with giant ancient animals.

The fossil was discovered in the city of Susa in Paraiba state in northeastern Brazil. This place is called the Treasures site because it looks like three large flat rock formations known locally as Lajeiros.’

The surface of the rock is embedded with footprints of various dinosaur species that are thought to date back 140 million years. The species includes bipedal theropods, the ancestors of tyrannosaurs.

What’s even more amazing is that this place contains petroglyphs, stone carvings made by ancient people. These petroglyphs are estimated to be between 9,400 and 2,620 years old and are located near fossilized dinosaur footprints. Interestingly, many of the carvings depict circles decorated with lines and other geometric patterns, some even look like dinosaur footprints themselves.

According to researchers, the close connection between petroglyphs and dinosaur footprints is not a coincidence. They argue that the prehistoric people who created the petroglyphs deliberately chose these locations, thereby giving the dinosaur footprints more cultural significance than just ordinary footprints.

The nature of the petroglyphs provides some interesting clues. The repeating circular shapes may represent celestial bodies, fertility symbols, or even the footprints of dinosaurs themselves. Researchers say similarities between dinosaur footprints and those of the emu-like rhea, South America’s largest living bird, may not have helped ancient people interpret the fossil remains.

According to Troiano, these people probably thought the footprints belonged to some kind of giant bird, an assumption that turned out to be very accurate. To preserve this paleontological and anthropological wonder, the authors advocate immediate mitigation measures to prevent further damage by humans and wildlife.

This discovery gave rise to a world view of the early inhabitants of Brazil. Do they respect dinosaurs as powerful creatures whose presence is in line with cosmic symbols.

This location in Brazil isn’t exactly like the Tyrannosaurus Ranch on Isla Nublar, but it’s notable for showing that some sort of human- dinosaur has been around much further than previously thought.
