Around 800 Malagasy schools benefit from food support for students, as part of the Madagascar Food Systems Resilience Project (FSRP). This three-year project, financed by the World Bank to the tune of $40 million, provides hot meals and snacks to 240,000 students in these schools. The project highlights local production through 20,000 local producers selected from nine regions, namely Analamanga, Vakinankaratra, Itasy, Anosy, Androy, Atsimo Andrefana, Atsimo Atsinana, Fitovinany and Vatovavy.
On June 22 and 23, 2024, the World Food Program (WFP) organized a consultation meeting with the Ministry of National Education to, on the one hand, take stock of the year 2023 and, on the other hand, identify the priority areas of the 2023-2024 work plan, and validate the list of beneficiary schools as part of this project.
