Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz signed an agreement on long-term commitments in the field of security.
The Office of the President of Ukraine published the points of the bilateral agreement with Germany.
Igor Zhovkva, deputy head of Zelensky’s office, elaborated. “This is already the second agreement after the agreement with Great Britain that we are signing in fulfillment of the G7 joint declaration of July 12, 2023.”
According to Zhovkva, the conclusion of the agreement was preceded by four rounds of intensive negotiations, including in Berlin.
Accordingly, for 2024, 7.1 billion euros of financial and military assistance from Germany was indicated.
Germany supports Ukraine’s efforts on the path to reforms, particularly in the context of its aspirations to join the EU and NATO.
Attention was also paid to cooperation in the field of defense industry and support for the high-tech development of Ukraine’s military-industrial complex, including at the expense of German investments.
The agreement was signed for a period of 10 years.
