ASSUMPTION- President Santiago Peña reaffirmed in his second report that education is the safest path towards national transformation. He stressed that, for the first time, all public scholarships were centralized under a single program: “Paraguay Government Scholarships”, with more than 6,700 beneficiaries in 2025, exceeding the initially planned places.
As for infrastructure, he announced the construction of 17 model schools, one by departmental head, and the renewal of emblematic institutions such as the National College of the capital and the national technician. More than 240,000 new desks were also provided with a total of 328,000 acquired, with an investment exceeding 32 million.
Another relevant point is the strengthening of the Taiwan-Paraguay Polytechnic University, which will have a new headquarters in the future digital district, seeking to prepare the country for high-tech industries.
Through SNPP and SINAFOCAL, more than 178,000 Paraguayans were trained to access formal employment. Peña remarked that education is not an expense, but an investment with the greatest possible return: the future of the country.
