According to initial information, a terrorist attack on a shopping and entertainment complex in northwest Moscow, Russia left more than 60 people dead and 147 injured. The number of casualties may increase.
On the evening of March 22, an attack occurred at a performance hall in a shopping and entertainment complex on the outskirts of Moscow.
The attack occurred at the Crocus City Hall theater in northwest Moscow (Graphic: Guardian).
An unidentified group, dressed in field uniforms, carrying rifles, grenades and smoke bombs, opened fire and launched a mass attack inside the hall right before the performance began. The hall has more than 6,000 seats and tickets have been sold out.

The Russian Investigation Committee cited preliminary information confirming that the death toll in the attack has reached more than 60 people and may increase. In addition, 147 people were injured, including children.
At the time the attack occurred, it was estimated that 6,200 people were present in the hall area.
The attack caused a large fire at the Crocus City shopping and entertainment complex.
Part of the building’s roof may have collapsed.
While firefighters worked to extinguish the fire, security forces evacuated people from the complex.
In addition to fire trucks, helicopters were also dispatched to extinguish the fire. By dawn this morning, the fire was basically under control.
The incident is being investigated as a terrorist attack. Moscow suspected Ukraine was involved, but Kiev denied it.
