The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia on Sunday welcomed the agreement between Pakistan and Iran to reduce tensions and restore diplomatic relations.

Addressing the cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Kakar said that Islamabad will welcome all positive steps taken by Tehran.
In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s House on Friday, it was said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs briefed the Cabinet on January 16 about the situation arising from Iran’s missile and drone attacks in Pakistan’s territory.

The Prime Minister in his address to the Cabinet further said that Pakistan is a law abiding and peace loving country and it seeks friendly and cooperative relations with all countries especially its neighbours.
“Pakistan and Iran are brotherly countries that have historically enjoyed brotherly and cooperative relations of respect and affection.”
He said that it is in the interest of both the countries to take steps to restore the relations that existed before January 16, 2024.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan would welcome all the positive steps taken by Iran in this regard.
Earlier, a meeting of the National Security Committee concluded that the two countries would be able to overcome minor hurdles through dialogue and diplomacy in accordance with the international principles of good neighborly relations and deepen their historic ties. Will smooth.
Caretaker Federal Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani said in a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Amir Abdullahyan on Friday that Islamabad is ready to work with Tehran on all issues in a spirit of mutual trust and cooperation.
Pakistan’s foreign ministry said in a press release that the foreign minister emphasized the need for close cooperation on security issues.
