The United States on Tuesday vetoed a resolution presented at the United Nations for a cease-fire in Gaza for the fourth time.
Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Munir Akram, reacted to the US decision to veto another resolution demanding a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza, saying that it is a reflection of paralyzing the Security Council.
Algeria’s veto of a draft resolution calling for a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza is regrettable, he said in a statement on OneX. “The council is failing the besieged people of Gaza,” he said. Munir Akram said that this situation also supports Pakistan’s position that more new permanent members should be in the Security Council.
