“Santiago Avanza”, a social and political platform to support Irací Hassler, was activated

More than 200 delegates from various neighborhood, cultural and social organizations of the commune, as well as representatives of the PS, PR, PPD, RD, CS, DC and PC, met to jointly build a new program for the local government.

Santiago. 17/3/2024. “Constituent Mayor’s Office”, the social and political platform that brought Irací Hassler to the municipality of Santiago in 2021, met this Saturday, March 16, to reactivate its lines of work and launch a new name: “Santiago Avanza”.

The meeting brought together more than 200 delegates from various neighborhood, cultural and social organizations of the commune, as well as representatives of the Socialist Party, Radical Party, Party for Democracy, Democratic Revolution, Social Convergence, Christian Democracy and the Communist Party.

Among those attending the activity were the representative Alejandra Placencia and the councilors Dafne Concha, Camila Davagnino and Ana María Yáñez.

Distributed into different work groups, the leaders and neighbors addressed the main axes of what would be the program of a next communal government, highlighting topics such as safety and prevention, education and public health, sustainability, environment and waste management, among others. Likewise, 85% compliance with the current communal government program was reported.

In her opening words, the mayor of Santiago said she is convinced “that our people, our neighbors, the boys and girls of Santiago have the right to live better, to live well, and that this commune has all the potential to “That is possible, but it requires all of our work, our organization, the work of the municipality and the organization in the neighborhoods, in an unprecedented unity.”

Among the priorities, Irací Hassler mentioned the objective of continuing to recover the public spaces of the commune, “even taking the role that the municipality had played further, in the face of the biggest problem we face: territorial control, delinquency and organized crime.” .

Along these lines, the community leader highlighted that yesterday house number 40 was recovered within the framework of the security prevention strategy together with the police legal table. “This has been achieved thanks to the work of our teams, but also thanks to the work of our communities,” said Mayor Hassler.
