Sanctions against Russians are eased – 2024-08-29 03:15:27

The general secretary of the All-Russian Skiing and Canoeing Federation, Yelena Iskhakova, said that the head of the International Canoeing Federation, Tomas Konetsko, promised her that sanctions against the Russians would be eased after the Olympic Games in Paris.

Publika.az reports that “TASS” quoted Iskhakova’s words.

“We talked to the president of the International Canoe Federation at the Olympics, he thanked us for coming, sympathized with us and said he was very proud that we still had such a good result. He said that communication is going on in the International Olympic Committee and all sanctions related to sports will be eased after the Olympic Games.

He said that now everyone is allowed to participate in the World Cup, and in the future they will have to review the declaration,” TASS quoted Iskhakova as saying.

The 2024 Olympics ended on August 11. Three Russian canoeists took part here: Zakhar Petrov, Alexey Korovashkov and Olesya Romasenko. They did not win a single medal.
