“My goal is to be a world champion”
Samet Caf told AA correspondent that he started wushu at the age of 8.
Stating that he lives in Istanbul, Samet said, “I started doing sports because I was naughty at home. Of course, I didn’t know that I would come to this point. Thanks to my teachers, I came to this point thanks to them.”
Noting that he has participated in 15 wushu tournaments to date and has never been defeated, Samet continued as follows:
“I am a sophomore in high school this year. I continue my school life and my sports life together. When I leave school, I do my homework and go to the gym and continue my training. Now we are preparing for the World Championship. We will represent Turkey. My goal is the world championship.”
Emphasizing that he wants to continue his education and sports together, the young athlete said that he wants to be a governor who does wushu or a doctor.
Stating that the camp was productive, Samet said, “Our camp environment is very nice. I recommend wushu to young people, children, especially my peers. Although it is not an Olympic branch, it provides the opportunity to work on many branches such as wrestling, karate, taekwondo at the same time.”
