With 10 games left in the regular season, Cercle Brugge are still in the running for the top six. In the hunt for the Champions League play-offs, the Association evidently does not want to leave anything to chance.
While transfer violence has yet to break out in most of the competition, Jan Breydel is already busy on the transfer market. This weekend, for example, the arrival of Felipe Augusto was announced.
Brazilian connection
Now the 19-year-old Brazilian, for whom Cercle paid no less than three million, will have another country and an equal. He has just announced the hiring of Erick Nunes from Fluminense through official channels.
“Erick is a versatile right-sided defensive midfielder, who can also be used perfectly as a right winger,” says technical director Rembert Vromant about the latest acquisition on the team’s website.
Rent with option
“He is adept at losing the ball and can rely above all on his speed. We are convinced that Erick has the skills to quickly adapt to our philosophy and we look forward to seeing him adapt.”
Erick will join the group as soon as all administrative matters have been completed. Cercle also included in the agreement an option to possibly have him for another year next season.
★ Cercle Brugge and Brazilian Fluminense have reached an agreement for the temporary transfer of Erick Nunes Barbosa dos Santos (19). Erick is rented until the end of this season, with an option for an additional season. 🟢⚫️ #BemVindoErick
