The unemployment rate in the Gmunden district was 4.6% at the end of January 2024. Compared to January of the previous year, this represents an increase of 0.3%.
The tail end of the weakened economy coupled with seasonal winter unemployment can now be felt, but the labor market in the Gmunden district can still be described as robust. This justification is also based on the high number of hiring commitments (for 603 people) from the companies, which signal that they will bring their now laid-off employees back into employment.
As in previous months, more men than women are registered as unemployed. At the end of January 2024, 716 women and 1,399 men were registered as looking for work in the Gmunden district. 600 people are currently completing qualifications that make sense in terms of labor market policy.
““Education works” still applies; we see by far the highest proportion of unemployed people at around 42% among those with at least a compulsory school qualification. We therefore continue to focus our work on education and qualifications for this group of people.
Stellenmarkt:
The demand for qualified workers has decreased noticeably compared to the previous year, with 1,949 jobs in January 2023 AMS Gmunden reported 1,469 open positions as of January 31, 2024 (each available immediately).
Lehrstellenmarkt:
As of January 31, 2024, there are 441 (open) apprenticeship positions available in the Gmunden district, including 166 apprenticeship positions that can be filled immediately.
In contrast, there are a total of 180 people looking for apprenticeships, of which 18 people are currently available immediately.
Dynamics on the labor market:
The domestic labor market continues to be very dynamic. In the month of January, 950 people became unemployed and 831 people ended their unemployment.
