Salman Khan threatened by Bishnoi gang, security at residence tight

According to Indian media, Bollywood actor Salman Khan has received a threat from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

The threat to Salman Khan was sent through an email by Goldie Brar, an aide of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, imprisoned in a Punjab jail, is believed to be the alleged mastermind behind the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Musewala.

“Goldie Brar, a Canadian-based gangster and close associate of Lawrence Bishnoi, wanted to speak to the actor,” the email said.

According to the Indian newspaper Times of India, an email sent to the actor’s personal assistant (PA) Jordi Patel stated that “Goldie Brar wants to speak to Salman Khan ‘face to face’.”

The email asked the PA to set up a time when they could talk.

The email also asked the PA to show the actor a video of a recent interview with Lawrence Bishnoi, in which he said he wanted to kill Salman Khan.

“Salman Khan must have seen Lawrence Bishnoi’s recent interview with a news channel and if not, he should watch it,” the email, written in Hindi, said.

According to Indian media, the atmosphere at Salman’s residence and family is quite serious as everyone is very worried about his safety.

Police have also beefed up security at Salman Khan’s residence in Bandra, Mumbai, and his team has been asked to avoid any events for the next few days.

Salman Khan’s friend and associate Prashant Ganjalkar has also lodged a complaint at the Bandra police station against gangster Bishnoi, his aide Gudi Brar and email sender Rohit Garg.

The FIR was registered under Indian Penal Code sections 120-B (punishment for criminal conspiracy), 506-II (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 34 (common intention).

Mumbai police officials say they are examining the email.

This is not the first time the actor has been threatened by a gangster. In the year 2018, when the hearing of the blackbuck hunting case was going on, Lawrence Bishnoi had said that Salman Khan had hurt the sentiments of the Bishnoi community by hunting the blackbuck.

In November last year, the Maharashtra government had decided that the Mumbai police would provide Y-plus grade security to Salman Khan in light of the threats he received from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
